Warp August 7, 2026 Changelog

Warp is a modern terminal app that uses AI to help you code and control your computer. This update mostly focuses on making the AI agents smarter by letting you teach them custom tricks, while also fixing a bunch of annoying visual bugs and crashes to make your daily workflow smoother.

Improvements

• Custom AI skills: If you use Warp's AI agent mode, you can now use an environment variable (a system setting) called SKILLS_DIRS to point the AI to your own folders of custom skills. It will load these personal skills and prioritize them highly.

Fixes

• Credit selection confusion: When setting up your account, the app used to highlight the smallest AI credit pack as if you selected it, even if you didn't. It now only shows what you actually chose.
• Synced tab indicators: If you use the vertical tab layout and have "Synchronized Inputs" turned on (which lets you type the same thing into multiple tabs at once), the little icon showing they are linked now appears correctly.
• Post-agent typing crash: Fixed a crash that happened if you started typing immediately after an AI agent finished its task, especially if the auto-complete feature was turned on.
• Tab bar colors: The bar holding your tabs now matches the main terminal background perfectly, instead of looking like a weird, lighter strip.
• Code block jumps: When you click to open a file from an AI chat's code preview, it now jumps straight to the exact line of code you were looking at, rather than just the very top of the file.
• Kitty keyboard shortcuts: Fixed an issue where using Command or Option keys with Backspace, Delete, and arrow keys didn't work if you were running apps that use the "Kitty keyboard protocol" (a specific way some terminal apps handle advanced key presses).

Oz updates

*(Oz is Warp's feature that lets the AI control your mouse and keyboard to do tasks on your screen.)*

• Linux mouse dragging: Fixed a bug on Linux where the AI would accidentally "let go" of the mouse button between actions, which broke things like clicking and dragging to highlight text.
• Smoother screen recordings: When Oz records a video of what it's doing on your screen, the on-screen mouse cursor now glides smoothly between actions instead of teleporting, making the recordings much easier to follow.
