This update is all about making Warp smoother and more customizable for developers. It matters most to people who use Warp's AI tools (like the Oz assistant) or who juggle multiple coding projects at once, giving them more control over their AI setup and fixing a lot of annoying visual glitches.

What's new

  • Create new branches easily: You can now start a new Git branch (a separate line of code changes) straight from the branch switcher menu.
  • Manage API keys via text commands: You can now use terminal commands to handle your API keys (password-like codes that let apps talk to each other).
  • Make your own AI environments: When setting up automated tasks, there's a new menu option to create a fresh environment from scratch.
  • Better remote code review: When reviewing code over a remote SSH connection (accessing another computer), you can now use keyboard shortcuts to navigate files and see stats on what changed.
  • Oz cloud handoff: If you're running a local Warp AI session on a Mac, it will automatically move to the cloud before your computer goes to sleep, so your task doesn't get interrupted.
  • View tasks in Oz: You can now jump straight to the Oz assistant to view tasks managed by background agents.

Improvements

  • Even pane splits: If you have your terminal window split into different sections, just double-click the divider line to make them all equal sizes again.
  • Cleaner file paths: When opening a new tab, long folder locations are shortened so the actual project name is always visible. If you hover your mouse over it, you'll see the full path.
  • Bring Your Own Key (BYOK): Solo users can now plug in their own AI API keys. There's also a freshly redesigned Billing & Usage page to track your costs.
  • Custom local AI models: You can now set up custom AI models for local tasks (though this is no longer available for cloud-based runs).
  • Safer clipboard sharing: "OSC 52" is a background command that lets apps copy text to your clipboard. Warp now puts this behind a safety setting so random apps can't steal your clipboard, and it warns you if access is blocked.
  • Better team management: When removing someone from a team or reloading credits, Warp now asks you to confirm to prevent accidental clicks. It also gives clearer messages when you hit your team member limit.
  • Smoother Git in Oz: The Oz assistant now refreshes its GitHub login during tasks so it doesn't lose permission halfway through your work.
  • Clearer remote labels: When looking at files or code reviews from another computer, Warp now clearly labels which computer they came from.

Fixes

  • Tiny window bug: Fixed an issue on Mac where clicking the green window button could shrink Warp down to a useless 1-pixel wide line.
  • Frozen app fix: Fixed a glitch where hiding secret text in the terminal could cause the whole app to freeze up.
  • AI credit glitch: Fixed a problem where the AI wouldn't work if you had auto-reload turned on but were out of credits.
  • Tab closing logic: When you close a tab, Warp now correctly switches your focus to the tab on the right.
  • Flickering code menus: Fixed annoying flickering and outdated info when entering or leaving a coding project.
  • Misdirected comments: Fixed an issue where code review comments were accidentally sent to hidden background terminals instead of where they belonged.
  • Menu mix-ups: Fixed dropdown menus in the task setup that didn't match the fields they were supposed to fill.
  • Broken links and notifications: Fixed dead links in the agent details panel and fixed broken Oz notifications caused by an outdated plugin.
  • Web version errors: Fixed file-loading errors in the WASM build (the version of Warp that runs in a web browser).
