Warp is a modern, AI-powered terminal that helps you write and manage code. This update is all about making your workspace more customizable and fixing a ton of annoying bugs so the app feels faster and much more reliable. It matters to anyone who uses the terminal for coding, especially if you rely on AI agents to help you get work done.

What's new

• Custom tab colors: You can now use the /set-tab-color command to change or clear the color of your current tab, making it easier to organize your workspace.
• Drag-and-drop images: You can now drag image files from your computer directly into an active AI agent session (like Claude Code) to share them with the AI.
• More AI details: The details side panel for AI conversations now works for local Warp Agent chats, not just cloud ones. You can also open and close this panel using a custom keyboard shortcut.
• Continue chats locally: A new /continue-locally command lets you take a cloud-based AI conversation and keep it running on your own computer.
• Better file links: When you click a file link in the terminal, a new option lets you reveal that file in your computer's file explorer (like Finder on Mac).
• Recognizes more AI tools: Warp now officially recognizes "Mistral Vibe" and Block's "goose" AI tools, giving them their own special icons, colors, and status bars when you run them.
• Visuals in AI output: The terminal can now display local images and Mermaid diagrams (a way to draw charts using code) right inside the AI's output.
• Oz AI updates: Warp's "Oz" AI can now use Codex as a helper, and you can adjust how much memory (context window) it uses per profile.

Improvements

• Less memory and CPU usage: The view that manages your AI runs won't hog your computer's resources while an AI is streaming a response.
• Copy tab info: You can now right-click a tab to easily copy its metadata (background info about the tab and panes).
• Smarter SSH connections: When connecting to remote computers, Warp will silently fall back to a standard connection if its special server software isn't compatible, instead of trying and failing to install it.
• More efficient background tasks: The way the app listens to AI events has been tightened up so it only pays attention to active conversations, saving processing power.
• Better syntax highlighting: The editor now correctly color-codes .htm files and .command scripts. AI code blocks written in languages like Vue, XML, Dockerfile, and C++ headers are now highlighted properly, too.
• Git button tooltips: Buttons for Git actions will now tell you why they are disabled (for example, "No changes to commit").

Fixes

• Fixed a security flaw: Patched a vulnerability on Linux where bad code could be injected when opening files in external editors.
• Stopped a repeating command: The Code Review pane was running a GitHub command over and over every time a file changed, even if there was no pull request. It now stops doing that.
• Fixed text selection jumping: If you were searching for text (⌘+F) and new text streamed in, your selection would jump away. This is now fixed.
• Fixed Japanese typing on Mac: Typing in Japanese used to delete the last character if it came right before punctuation.
• Stopped screen blinking: Fixed an issue where the file tree would blink and reshuffle when connecting to a remote SSH server.
• Fixed Windows issues: Fixed broken copy/paste shortcuts when using a non-Latin keyboard, fixed broken hotkeys, and fixed a crash that happened when handing off a web conversation to the desktop app.
• Fixed scrolling and dragging: Terminal text now auto-scrolls when you drag past the edge, and Page Up/Page Down now correctly scroll the terminal output instead of acting weird.
• Stopped accidental conversation resets: Pressing backspace in an AI view when there's no text left will no longer wipe out your whole conversation.
• Fixed background color bleeding: Fixed an issue where colored regions in tools like delta or diff-so-fancy would bleed and fill the entire screen.
• Fixed memory leaks: Fixed a Mac issue where the app would slowly eat up memory when looking at system fonts, and stopped the app from using too much memory when scanning long file paths.
• Fixed AI image attachments: Attaching an image to a prompt now immediately locks the AI into the right mode, stopping the system from getting confused.
• Fixed keyboard shortcuts: Fixed issues where Option+Enter, Option+Tab, and Option+Escape were typing out literal words instead of doing what they were supposed to do.
• Fixed file opening: Opening a file now uses the correct version of Warp, and running shell scripts from a file:// link will actually run them in the terminal instead of opening them as text.
