This update is all about making your design-to-code workflow smoother and faster. It matters a lot to developers who use Figma for design, because v0 can now read those files directly to build your app. It’s also great for anyone who wants a smarter AI model (Claude Opus 5) and faster ways to manage long coding chats using keyboard shortcuts.
What's new
- Claude Opus 5: A new, highly capable AI model is available to choose from. There is also an "Opus 5 Fast" option if you want speedier responses.
- Direct Figma reading: You can now paste a Figma link directly into your chat. v0 will automatically read the design's structure and styles to build your app, skipping the old, clunky screenshot method.
- Prompt history: Just like a terminal, you can press the Up and Down arrow keys in the text box to bring back your previous prompts, including any files or skills you had attached to them.
- Keyboard shortcuts: You can now use
Cmd/Ctrl + Enterto send a prompt or stop a response. You can useCmd/Ctrl + Up/Downto scroll through prompts you have lined up in your queue. - Inline URL icons: When you type or paste a web link into your chat, it will show up with the website's little logo (favicon) right next to it.
- Automatic AI features: If the app you are building needs AI tools, v0 will just figure out how to build them based on your requirements instead of pausing to ask you what to do.
Improvements
- Better sidebar previews: When you hover over a chat in your sidebar, you'll see a preview of how that AI turn ended—like a summary or a question it asked you. If it's still generating, it will clearly say "v0 is working".
- Queue panel: The panel that shows your lined-up prompts now starts open by default.
- Free tier limits: The visual bar showing your free-tier usage now fills up over time instead of draining, which is easier to understand. Also, the daily limit for the free "Fix with v0" tool is set at 10 uses per day.
- Sound and error tweaks: The sound that plays when an app finishes generating is now quieter. If a long prompt causes an error, you can hover over it to read the full message. When you pick a new AI model, your cursor stays in the text box so you can keep typing.
- Clearer billing messages: If your subscription expires, you'll now get a clearer message explaining that you need an active subscription to use any credits you bought. If you run out of credits entirely, the message simply reads "You are out of credits".
Fixes
- Figma bugs: Fixed an issue where broken Figma logins would get stuck. It now clears the bad login and asks you to reconnect. Also, Figma links without the "www" part now work perfectly.
- Queue and stop buttons: When you stop a response or delete a queued prompt, it now happens instantly. Deleting a prompt while editing it no longer makes it reappear when you reload the page.
- ZIP and Git fixes: Downloading a ZIP file of your chat no longer gives you an empty folder. If you upload a ZIP file to start a chat, it now keeps hidden setup files like
.gitignore. Large ZIP downloads and Git actions no longer crash from timing out. Duplicating a chat connected to Git now makes a working copy instead of a broken screen. - Login and loading fixes: Connecting to Git or opening projects now properly asks you to log in again if your session expired, instead of just failing with a generic error. The app preview screen now waits until it is fully loaded before showing, getting rid of a weird black flash.
- Mobile and screen fixes: On phones, sending your first message now keeps you on the chat screen instead of jumping to the preview. Glitchy flashing on the sidebar and text overflowing on smaller screens are fixed.
- Checkout and credit fixes: If a payment fails, you now get a retry button instead of a never-ending loading circle. The checkout page no longer jumps around while loading. Upgrading your plan no longer gets stuck on your old plan, and the warning that you are out of credits disappears as soon as you actually have credits again.
- File attachments: Fixed a glitch where the file-drop box would get stuck on your screen, and made the little attachment tags look cleaner.
