This update is all about giving you more control and better connections. It matters most to people using Replit's paid Pro tiers or working in teams, especially those who want their AI assistant to play nicely with other software they already use.
What's new
- Pick your workspace region: If you're a Pro user, you can now choose whether your coding workspace is hosted in North America, Europe, or Asia. This helps your code run faster if you or your users are closer to those areas.
- Connect Replit to other apps: Using something called MCP (a standard way for AI to talk to other software), you can now link Replit directly to ChatGPT, Claude, or Slack. This lets you create, find, and edit Replit apps right from those other platforms.
- Better account logins: You can now upgrade your app's login system to Clerk Auth. Clerk is a tool that handles user passwords and sign-ins safely. The Replit AI will move your user data over for you so nobody gets locked out of their accounts.
- More app connections: The AI Agent can now connect to tools like Cal.com (for scheduling), Airtable (for database spreadsheets), and Rootly Docs.
- Charts in the chat: You can now ask the AI Agent a question about your data, and it will draw a chart right there in the chat window. You can then use that chart in the app you're building.
- Share AI Skills: A "skill" is a specific set of instructions that teaches the AI Agent how to do a task. Now, anyone in a team workspace can create these skills and share them with their team. Team members can choose to turn these shared skills on or off, and admins can manage all of them.
- Admin API: An API is a way for one computer program to talk to another. Enterprise admins now have a new API (in beta, meaning it's still being tested) that lets them automatically pull up reports on team workspaces, see who is building what, and manage budgets.
