OpenCode v1.18.3 Changelog

What changed in OpenCode CLI v1.18.3, released 2026-07-16 β€” explained in plain English.

TLDR
  • Finding and opening your past work sessions is now much faster using the search bar (command palette).
  • The app won't prematurely claim it is "ready" on Windows anymore; it now waits for the Linux background tools (WSL) to fully load first.
  • Several visual bugs, like broken scrolling and a useless help button, have been cleaned up.

This update is all about making the desktop app feel smoother, faster, and more reliable. It mostly matters to desktop usersβ€”especially those on Windows using Linux toolsβ€”who want a cleaner interface and quicker ways to jump back into their previous coding sessions.

Improvements

  • Easier session searching: You can now use the command palette (the quick search bar) on the home page to instantly find and open your past work sessions.
  • Quicker keyboard navigation: When choosing a "subagent" (a mini AI helper), pressing the Up Arrow key when you are at the top of the list will now quickly close the menu.

Fixes

  • Smoother scrolling: Fixed a bug on the home page where the list of sessions and the "sticky" headers (titles that are supposed to stay pinned to the top while you scroll) were overlapping and acting glitchy.
  • Accurate startup loading: On Windows, the app used to say it was ready to go before the WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux, which lets Linux tools run on Windows) finished loading in the background. Now, it waits until everything is actually ready.
  • Cleaned up the screen: A help button that didn't actually do anything has been removed to keep the screen clean.
  • Visible custom agents: Fixed an issue where the menu to select your custom AI helpers (agents) wouldn't show up, even when you had them set up and ready to use.
