This update is all about making your workspace look cleaner and run smoother. The team has finished moving OpenCode over to its brand-new "v2" desktop design. If you use OpenCode to manage your projects, this release matters to you because it cleans up the interface, speeds up load times, and fixes a ton of minor glitches that used to get in the way of your coding flow.

What's new

  • Layout Switcher: If you aren't ready for the new look just yet, there is a new setting that lets you easily toggle between the classic layout and the new v2 layout during this transition period.
  • Onboarding Guide: A new welcome tour helps you get familiar with the new layout the very first time you launch the updated app.

Improvements

  • Faster Startup: The "Home" screen now loads much faster when you open the app from scratch (what developers call a "cold load").
  • Smoother Timeline Scrolling: The app now loads more of your activity history at once, so you won't experience constant pauses or loading lag while scrolling back in time.
  • Clearer Status Indicators: Status alerts are now easier to read, making it obvious how urgent a system warning or notification is.

Fixes

  • Terminal Tab Behavior: Fixed an issue where terminal tabs would "steal" your cursor's focus when they loaded. Also, the text box will now stay selected while you are renaming a tab.
  • Visual and Crash Glitches: Fixed a bug where files showed the wrong background color in the new layout, and stopped the app from crashing when trying to position the project selector menu.
  • Cursor Memory: The text cursor (or "caret") in the composer will no longer jump around or lose its place when requests update.
  • Timeline and Connection Syncing: The activity timeline now stays locked to the bottom of the screen properly and syncs up correctly if you get disconnected and reconnect.
  • Permissions and Security: Remote sessions now correctly remember your auto-accept permissions, and these permissions are kept safely separated for each individual server you connect to.
