This update is all about making your coding workspace feel smoother, faster, and more reliable. Whether you are using OpenCode to write scripts, chat with AI models, or review code, these changes make the desktop app behave more like a modern web browserβ€”saving your tabs, letting you reopen closed projects, and keeping your workspace organized.

What's new

  • Run scripts safely in "Code Mode": Added a secure way to run scripts that coordinate different tasks using connected MCP tools. (MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is a standard that lets AI models safely connect to external tools and data).
  • Reopen closed tabs: Just like in a web browser, you can now reopen tabs you accidentally closed, or open new tabs in the background without immediately switching to them.
  • Recently closed projects: The Home screen now lists your recently closed projects so you can jump right back into your work.
  • Debug info shortcut (Terminal Interface): If you use the terminal-based version of the app, there is a new dialog box that lets you easily view and copy troubleshooting info to your clipboard.

Improvements

  • Redesigned Review Panel: The code review screen got a major overhaul to make reading and approving code changes much easier.
  • Snappier tabs: Tabs now switch the instant you click down on your mouse, and hovering over a tab gives you a cleaner preview of what's inside. Plus, your tabs will now stay open even if you close and restart the app.
  • Unified AI connections: Connecting the app to different AI providers (like OpenAI or Anthropic) now uses the exact same, simple setup process across the entire app.
  • Better search and terminal: Finding AI models in search menus is much easier, and the built-in terminal feels faster and more responsive.
  • Cleaner interface: The "execute" tool is now hidden unless you are actually in code mode, keeping your screen free of clutter.

Fixes

  • Lost tool details: Fixed an issue where browsing long, page-by-page lists of external AI tools would cause the app to forget what those tools did or how to validate their outputs.
  • AI connection hiccups: Fixed routing issues with GitHub Copilot and Cerebras models, ensuring your prompts and the AI's "thinking process" are sent to the right places.
  • Wrong project errors: Starting a new session from the Home screen will no longer accidentally open the wrong project.
  • Unfocused typing: You can now keep typing into the AI prompt box even if you click away to another window.
  • Laggy review screens: Fixed performance lag when viewing very large code reviews.
  • Disappearing terminals and panels: Switching between tabs will no longer accidentally close your active terminal or reset your
