TLDR
  • You can now log into secure tool servers and check for updates much more easily.

  • The app shuts down faster, and several annoying bugs with pop-ups and server connections were fixed.

This update is all about making the app safer and smoother to use. It matters most to developers and power users who rely on this tool to write code, especially those who connect it to outside servers and services.

What's new

  • You can now use new commands (/mcp login, /mcp logout, and /mcp status) to log in and out of secure MCP servers. (MCP servers are external tools that help the AI do extra things, and OAuth is just a secure way to log in without typing a password directly).
  • A new --check-upgrade command lets you instantly check if a new version of the app is ready to download.
  • There's a new --yolo shortcut that does the exact same thing as --auto-approve (which tells the app to automatically say "yes" to its own suggestions without asking you first).
  • The ACP (Agent Communication Protocol, a way for AI agents to share info) can now handle images pasted right into the chat.

Improvements

  • Your API keys (the secret passwords that let the app talk to Mistral) are now stored safely in your operating system's built-in password vault instead of a plain text file where anyone could read them.
  • When you use the tool to replace a word, the preview screen now shows *every* word that was replaced, not just the first one.
  • The menu that pops up to suggest code completions now uses a two-column layout, making it easier to read.
  • Chat messages now have extra space on the right side, so your text won't run into and get hidden by the scroll bar.
  • The app closes much faster when you quit because it stops taking time to clean up background files on its way out.

Fixes

  • Fixed a glitch where the menu suggesting "skills" (special abilities) would stay stuck on the screen after you pressed Tab to pick one.
  • Fixed a bug where Stdio MCP connections (a way for the app to talk to local tools) would drop or disconnect between different tool calls. They now stay connected.
  • Fixed an issue where the Mistral servers would sometimes send a 5xx error (a temporary "server is overwhelmed" message). Instead of just failing and giving up, the app will now automatically try again.
