This update is mostly about making the AI assistant play nicer with external code editors (like JetBrains or Zed). If you use this tool to help write code inside another app, this release fixes a few annoying bugs and makes the integration smoother.
What's new
- Quick file jumping: There's a new
/teleportcommand you can use when the AI is plugged into your code editor. It lets you quickly jump to a specific file or spot in your code, just like you can in the main text interface. - Update reminders: When you open the tool, it will now check if there's a new version waiting. If there is, it will prompt you to install the update before you start your session, so you are always running the latest software.
Fixes
- JetBrains login pop-ups: Previously, if you used JetBrains coding apps, the software would sometimes pop up a login screen for no reason. It also used to accidentally drop important background settings when opening a terminal. Both of these annoying bugs are fixed.
- Zed command glitches: The Zed code editor used to reject helpful commands like
/helpbecause the AI was sending them too quickly. We added a slight delay so Zed has time to wake up and recognize the commands. - Correct editing instructions: The AI's internal instructions used to tell it to use an old editing tool called
search_replace, which doesn't exist anymore. It now correctly points to theedittool, so the AI won't get confused when trying to change your code.
