This update is all about making the built-in chat assistant smoother and more reliable to use. If you regularly use the chat feature to write code, ask questions, or reference files in your project, these changes will make searching through your chat history and tagging your files much less frustrating.
What's new
- Command Palette Search Toggle: You can now quickly turn the chat search bar on or off using the Command Palette—the handy keyboard-accessible menu used to run quick commands in the editor.
Improvements
- Smarter Chat Search UX: When you close the search bar, your cursor automatically jumps back to the chat text box so you can keep typing immediately. Also, if your search term is hidden inside a collapsed "reasoning block" (where the AI shows its step-by-step thinking) or a tool call, the app will automatically expand that block so you can see the match.
Fixes
- Broken File Mentions: Previously, if you tried to tag a file using
@filenameand the name had spaces or special characters (like accents), the app would lose the highlighting and give you a "File not found" error. This has been fixed so all file names are recognized and linked properly.
