Goose v1.47.0 Changelog

This release is all about making Goose smarter and much less likely to crash. It matters to anyone who uses Goose for coding, especially if you work with large files, complex setups, or external AI providers. The team cleaned up a lot of messy bugs that caused disconnects or errors, while also adding a few handy visual features to the chat window to help you keep track of your work.

What's new

• Git branch indicator: The bottom of your chat window now shows which Git branch (a separate line of code history) you are currently working on.
• Pre-registered OAuth clients: For developers using streamable HTTP extensions (tools that talk to Goose over the web), you can now set up secure logins (OAuth) in advance.
• Recent models list: When picking which AI model to use, the menu now shows your recently used models, saving you from having to search for them every time.

Improvements

• Smarter agent loop: The core "brain" of Goose was rebuilt into a cleaner state machine (a step-by-step program flow), making it run more smoothly.
• Cleaner toolset: Removed some older, unused tools like web scraping and caching from the computer controller to make it leaner.
• Better ACP setup: ACP (Agent Client Protocol, a way for Goose to talk to other AI agents) was upgraded to a newer version, making setup easier and fixing issues where it failed to hand off tasks.

Fixes

• Crashes from large files: Fixed bugs where reading huge spreadsheets (XLSX), large local images, or massive chat histories would cause the app to disconnect or crash. Goose now puts safe limits on how much data it reads at once.
• App reload glitch: Fixed an issue where simply pressing "Enter" while filling out a recipe (a custom Goose workflow) parameter form would accidentally reload the whole app.
• Context length errors: Goose now properly recognizes when an AI model rejects a prompt for being too long, and correctly flags file-size limit errors.
• Thinking mode fixed: Some AI models (like Claude) were trying to "think" when they shouldn't be. Goose now explicitly tells them when to turn that off.
• Security and logins: Enforced safer token transport for logins and fixed an issue where authentication errors from external providers weren't being passed back to you.
• Annoying pop-ups: Goose will no longer show a "loading" toast notification for extensions if they all load successfully.
• Broken recipe filters: Re-enabled a feature (minijinja builtins) so that documented formatting filters in your recipes actually work again.
• Menu navigation: Fixed the hamburger menu icon so it correctly opens the navigation pane.
