What's new

• More AI Brains (Providers): Goose now supports a bunch of new AI services, including Perplexity, Together AI, Databricks, Alibaba's Qwen, and xAI's SuperGrok.
• Run Models Locally on Mac: Added support for MLX, which lets you run AI models directly on your Apple Silicon Mac without needing an internet connection.
• Image Reading Tool: Goose can now look at and read images to help you analyze visual data.

Improvements

• Smoother App Communication (ACP): Goose now uses the Agent Connection Protocol (ACP)—a standardized way for the app to talk to the AI—to handle tasks like loading chats, changing settings, and managing "recipes" (pre-set instructions for tasks).
• Better Cost Tracking: Goose now tracks "cache tokens" (saved pieces of memory) so you can see exactly how much your AI queries are costing.
• New Terminal Commands: If you use the Command Line Interface (CLI), you can now use /status to check on your session and /model to quickly switch AI models.
• Update Control: You can now turn off automatic update downloads if you prefer to update manually.
• Prompt Security: Added built-in protection against "prompt injection" (tricking the AI into doing something it shouldn't) for internal users.

Fixes

• Mac Updates & Tools: Fixed issues with how Goose updates on Mac and made sure background tools can properly find "Node.js" (a software runner) on macOS.
• Web Image Loading: Fixed a bug where Goose couldn't fetch images from certain websites because it wasn't identifying itself properly (missing "User-Agent" headers).
• Model Settings: Fixed a bug where sending "temperature" settings (which control how creative the AI is) broke connections to ChatGPT Codex.
• Search and Directory Fixes: You can now search for unlisted models, and Goose will properly refresh when you change your working folder.
