This update is all about making the app faster and giving you more control. Itβs especially great if you use external tools with your AI or if you have a lot of saved chats to search through.
What's new
- Gemini 3.6 Flash support: You can now pick the Gemini 3.6 Flash AI model from the model selector dropdown.
- Disable built-in skills: The app comes with some default "skills" (built-in abilities the AI can use). If you don't want them, you can now easily turn them off right from the app settings.
Improvements
- Keyboard shortcuts help: The menu that shows you all the keyboard shortcuts got a makeover, making it much easier to quickly scan and find the shortcut you need.
- MCP readiness: "MCP" (Model Context Protocol) is a way for the AI to connect to external servers and tools. Previously, the AI might start chatting before those tools were fully loaded. Now, the AI waits until your tools are completely ready before it takes its turn, so they work right from your very first message.
- Session search: When you search through your past chat sessions (or "sessions"), the app now does the heavy lifting on the server side rather than on your computer. This means searching, sorting, and paging through long histories is much faster. You can also search for a specific chat by typing in its ID number.
- MCP sign-in: The way you log into MCP servers inside the app is now the exact same as how you do it in the CLI (Command Line Interface, which is the text-based way you control the app). This makes the experience consistent no matter where you're working.
Fixes
- Spec proposal order: "Spec proposals" are basically suggestions or outlines the AI makes. There was a bug where these proposals would get jumbled out of order in the chat. They now stay in the correct chronological order.
- Image loading: Fixed an issue where images wouldn't load properly in the desktop app. Now, if an image is broken or fails to load, the app just hides it instead of showing an ugly placeholder box.
