Factory Droid v0.158.0 Changelog

This release is all about making the software easier to use and less glitchy. It matters most to people who use the Factory Droid app and command-line tool every day, giving them more control over their setup and fixing frustrating hang-ups.

What's new

• Enable and disable plugins: Plugins are add-on tools that give the software extra features. You can now easily turn these individual add-ons on or off with a simple switch.

Improvements

• Tab to complete slash commands: You know how your phone guesses the rest of the word you're typing? Now, when you start typing a command that begins with a slash (like /help), you can just press the Tab key to finish typing it automatically.
• Better MCP authentication: MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a way for the software to securely connect to outside tools. Logging into these connections is now smoother and handles redirects on your computer much better.
• Account credit checkout: If you have built up account credit, you can now use it to pay for your subscription or upgrade your plan.

Fixes

• Invalid API key login: An API key is like a secret password for the software. Before, if you typed in a bad password, the screen would just freeze. Now, it gives you a clear error message instead of getting stuck.
• Canceling AskUser prompts: When the software paused to ask you a question, hitting "cancel" used to let the AI agent keep running anyway. Now, canceling actually stops it.
• Duplicate tool approvals: Some tools ask for your permission before they run. Previously, the approval message would accidentally pop up twice. Now it only shows up once.
• Windows background processes: On Windows computers, background tasks weren't shutting down properly when you closed the program. The cleanup process is now fixed.
• Document skills location: "Document skills" are files the software creates to help it understand your project. These are now saved exactly in the folder you are currently working in, instead of hiding somewhere else.
• Dark mode toggles: In the app, the switch to turn on Dark Mode was invisible, and the loading animations were frozen. Both are now fixed and working normally.
• Editable composer: The composer (the text box where you type) used to lock up if the software hit a roadblock. Now you can keep typing in the box even if the software is temporarily stuck.
