Devin is an AI assistant that lives in your computer's terminal. This update is all about making it fit more smoothly into the tools you already use, cleaning up the visual clutter on your screen, and fixing some glitches that used to make resuming your work frustrating.

What's new

• Better editor integration: Devin can now automatically import MCP settings from OpenCode, VS Code, and Zed editors. MCP is just a standard way for AI to connect to outside tools. It can also load global settings specifically for the Cursor editor.
• Custom setups: You can now turn new AI providers on and off using a simple setting called read_config_from in your config file.
• Clearer code changes: When Devin edits a file using its apply_patch tool, the Windsurf editor now shows exactly what changed right there in the text (an "inline diff"), just like it already does for other edits.
• Login helper: A new /login-status command shows your account info (like your email, plan, and team) to help figure out login issues.
• New automation hook: A new post_compaction event lets you run custom actions right after Devin cleans up its memory (compacting its context to save space). It even hands you a summary of what it did.

Improvements

• Smoother background commands: When Devin runs commands in the background, it used to spam your screen with separate "Command Read" or "Killing shell" cards every time it checked on them. Now, it just shows one clean card with a spinning loader.
• Better screen clearing: Pressing Ctrl+L now clears the screen the same way standard computer shells do. It moves the old text up into the scrollback history so you can still scroll up to read it. If you ever need to completely wipe everything and redraw it from scratch, that's now Ctrl+Shift+L.
• Smarter session resumes: If you start Devin in one folder but try to resume your work from a different folder, it will ask what you want to do: use the original folder, switch to your new one permanently, or just use the new one for today.
• Cleaner interface: The streaming text from the AI looks better, the startup logo matches the website, and the welcome screen no longer shows your email address for better privacy.
• Easier permissions: The pop-ups asking if Devin is allowed to run certain commands now use simpler words. If your school or company allows it, Devin might offer to just skip the permission prompts entirely (Bypass mode).

Fixes

• Blank screen fixed: Resuming a session in the Windsurf editor using devin -r used to just show a blank screen. It now correctly shows your past conversation.
• Login bugs squashed: MCP OAuth (a secure login process for connecting outside tools) now works correctly, even if the server only accepts POST requests or hides its login info behind a company login wall (SSO).
• Mode memory fixed: When you resumed a saved session, it used to silently forget what mode you were in (like Plan or Ask) and default back to Code. It now remembers your choice.
• Duplicate skills removed: Devin used to find the same "skills" (custom abilities) over and over if they were buried in nested folders, which wasted computer power. This is fixed, saving memory at startup.
• Enterprise access fixed: The command to set up Devin inside your computer's shell now works for enterprise business accounts, which previously couldn't use it.
