This is a small but helpful update. It mainly matters if you were annoyed by a recently introduced color glitch in the user interface, or if you rely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to manage your cloud logins. It also includes a few behind-the-scenes updates to make the app run smoother for everyday users and developers.

Fixes

  • Permissions pop-up color: In the previous update, the team added color coding for Bash code (a programming language). This accidentally broke the background color of the pop-up box that asks for your permission to run things. It now looks normal again.
  • Windows test breaks: Windows uses a different invisible character (CRLF) to mark the end of a line of text compared to other systems (LF). This was causing tests to fail for developers working on Windows. The team standardized the line endings to fix this.

Improvements

  • AWS SSO and caching: AWS SSO (Single Sign-On) is a tool that lets you log into Amazon's cloud services once instead of typing your password constantly. The app now handles this better and does a superior job of caching—meaning it saves temporary data locally so it doesn't have to re-download it every time, making things faster.
  • Terminal emulator compatibility: A behind-the-scenes tool called Bubble Tea (which helps build the app's text-based interface) was updated. This fixes minor glitches for people using certain terminal emulators (the programs you use to type commands on your computer).
