This release is all about making Crush play nicer with external tools and run faster. If you use Crush to code with AI, these updates mean fewer crashes, better connections to outside servers, and a smoother experience when working on big projects.

What's new

  • MCP OAuth: MCPs (Model Context Protocol servers) are external tools that give the AI extra abilities. Some of them require a secure login (OAuth) to work. Crush can now handle these logins, so you can connect to those protected tools.
  • Claude Channels: Crush can now receive live notifications from outside tools when certain events happen, keeping you instantly updated.
  • System-wide settings: You can now save a single master configuration file for Crush at /etc/crush/crush.json. This is super helpful for operating systems like NixOS that manage system-wide settings differently.
  • Smarter connection alerts: The app can now tell the difference between an AI agent that hasn't been set up yet and a live connection that just dropped, making the on-screen warnings much less confusing.

Improvements

  • LSP performance boost: LSP (Language Server Protocol) is what checks your code for errors and autocompletes it. Crush now uses way less computer memory and processing power to run these checks, especially if you're working in a massive code repository.
  • Bang mode speedup: "Bang mode" is where you run direct shell commands. The app now streams the text output of these commands much faster, without freezing or lagging.

Fixes

  • GPT-5.6 via Copilot: The three GPT-5.6 models (Sol, Terra, and Luna) were completely broken when trying to run them through GitHub Copilot. They are now fixed and working again.
  • Restored MCP prompts: A feature that let you use pre-written prompts from external tools was accidentally turned off in an earlier version. It's back now.
  • Crash prevention: Fixed a bug where the app would panic and crash if the login signal fired twice at the same time.
  • Server shutdown races: Fixed a glitch where the server would shut down too early if you were quickly opening back-to-back workspaces.
  • Cleaner interface: Stopped background shell progress text from messing up the visual interface, and fixed a crash that only happened during Windows testing.
