This update is all about making the app easier to use and giving the AI smarter ways to edit your code. It matters most to developers who use Crush to write or refactor software, especially if you like navigating with keyboard shortcuts.

What's new

  • Smarter code editing (LSP tools): LSP (Language Server Protocol) is a feature that helps the AI understand how your code fits together. The AI can now use this to safely rename a variable everywhere it appears in your project, or completely replace, insert, or delete entire functions and classes by name.
  • Scrollable sidebar: If you have a lot of files or chats in your sidebar and run out of screen space, you can now scroll through it. You can use your mouse wheel or keyboard keys (like j/k or the up/down arrows) to move around.
  • Removable attachments: When you attach a file to your chat, you can now easily click an X button with your mouse to remove it, instead of messing with keyboard commands.
  • Copy login links: When logging into certain services (like GitHub Copilot), you can now press u to copy the web link. This is super helpful if you are using the app over a remote connection (like SSH) where a browser won't automatically pop open.
  • Faster quitting: When you go to close the app, it now reminds you that pressing Ctrl+C twice will skip the "Are you sure?" warning and quit instantly.

Improvements

  • The app now recovers smoothly if your internet connection blips and drops while the AI is talking.
  • The reasoning window (where you see the AI "thinking" before it answers) will now automatically expand to show you more of its thought process.
  • The sidebar was made a bit wider to fit more text and give the scrollbar its own space so things don't look cluttered.

Fixes

  • Fixed a glitch where attached files would disappear from your message after you sent it.
  • Fixed an issue where the AI's "thinking" text wasn't showing up for a specific AI model (MiniMax M3).
  • Fixed a bug where the "none" reasoning level wasn't working for Baseten AI models.
  • Fixed the app from freezing when starting new sessions in client-server mode.
  • Fixed a bunch of visual glitches: the chat screen no longer jumps around when you resize your window, the loading spinner keeps spinning if a response restarts, and the sidebar text no longer gets awkwardly cut off.
  • Fixed a bug where the app could crash if you changed settings while it was reading them.
  • Fixed the internal search tool so it correctly reports every single matching line in a file, instead of missing some.
