This update is all about smoothing out the rough edges. If you use Continue inside an IDE (a code editor like VS Code or JetBrains), this release matters to you because it fixes a bunch of bugs that could cause your editor to freeze, crash, or slow down over time.

Fixes

  • Editor freezes fixed: The app was trying to send massive chunks of data to its sidebar all at once, which made JetBrains editors freeze. It now breaks the data into smaller pieces.
  • Memory leak patched: The system was forgetting to clean up "listeners" (tools waiting for a response from the AI). Over time, this buildup would slow your computer down. It now cleans them up properly.
  • Crash on bad line numbers fixed: A feature that shows AI code changes was crashing because it tried to read a negative line number, which is impossible.
  • DeepSeek AI limit fixed: When using a specific AI model called DeepSeek, the app was sending the wrong setting name for the "max tokens" limit (how long the AI's reply can be). It now uses the correct setting name so the AI doesn't get confused.
  • Tricky file names fixed: If your file path had square brackets in it (like folder[2024]/code.js), the AI's autocomplete feature would break. It now handles these names perfectly.
  • Security updates: Fixed serious security vulnerabilities and updated background software packages to keep your system safe from hackers.
  • Preview crashes fixed: Trying to preview an AI's suggested code change was crashing the app due to a strict safety rule. That rule has been adjusted to allow safe previews.
  • Reading errors fixed: Fixed an error that happened when the AI tried to read a specific chunk of text in your file but the numbers didn't add up.
