This release is all about giving you more control over how AI helps you code. It matters most to developers who want to set up custom AI "agents" (assistants that can do specific tasks for you) and people who like running AI models locally on their own computers instead of in the cloud.
What's new
- Custom Agents: You can now build and save your own AI agents in a special
.continue/agentsfolder. Think of these as custom assistants programmed to handle specific, multi-step coding chores. - LM Studio Agent Support: If you use LM Studio (an app that lets you run AI models directly on your own computer for privacy), you can now use those local models in Agent mode.
- Command Line Installations: There are new scripts (using tools called
curlorirl) to make installing Continue from your computer's terminal much easier. - New Setup Check Command: A new command-line tool lets you check if your Continue setup is working correctly.
- MCP App Support: Added early support for MCP (Model Context Protocol) apps, which is a way to connect the AI to outside tools and data.
- Safer Default Tools: The AI's ability to automatically create or read rules is now turned off by default, meaning the AI won't change your settings unless you specifically tell it to.

Fixes
