This update is all about making the ChatGPT iOS app feel more powerful and organized, especially if you use it for complex schoolwork or big projects. It brings the phone app closer to the desktop experience by adding better search, easier ways to type long prompts, and smarter ways to organize your tasks.
What's new
- Search your history: You can now search through the titles and actual content of your past conversations on connected devices (hosts) to easily find old information.
- Reasoning effort slider: There's a new, compact gauge (a small slider) that lets you decide how much time and "brainpower" the AI should spend thinking before it answers.

Improvements
- Faster chat loading: When you open a really long conversation, the app no longer tries to load the entire history all at once. It loads the recent stuff first and grabs older messages only as you scroll up, which keeps things fast.
- Better task organization: The way your task list is laid out now matches the desktop computer version. It has better sorting and lets you "pin" important tasks to the top so they don't get lost.
- Matching visuals: Charts and pictures that appear inside the chat (inline visualizations) now automatically match your phone's dark mode or light mode settings, as well as your custom accent colors.
Fixes
- The improvements to how long chats load also fix bugs where the app would slow down or freeze when trying to open massive conversation histories.
