Breaking changes
- The old
codex mcp-servercommand (the instruction you type to launch Codex as a background helper for other apps) is deprecated. This means it’s outdated and might stop working in the future. You will need to switch to the Codex app server instead. - If you previously connected Codex to Claude Code manually, you now need to use the official Codex plugin for Claude Code to keep them working together.
