This update is all about making your life easier if you use Codex to code or manage projects. What's new

• Import from other AI tools: If you used Claude Code or Claude Cowork, you can now easily bring your saved setups (like preferences and configurations) straight into Codex. You can even do this when you first set up your account.
• Better plugins screen: The menu where you find mini-add-ons (plugins) for the app got a big redesign. It now has separate tabs, filters to sort by category, and you can even navigate it using your keyboard. It’s much clearer how to actually install things, too.
• Smarter settings search: You can now search for specific settings and find options hidden deep in the menu, including stuff related to Git (a system developers use to save and track code changes) and "pets" (likely a fun feature with virtual desktop companions).

Improvements

• Less notification spam: When you have a "goal" (a running task or timer) actively working in the app, it won't bug you with as many unread notifications.
• Better graphics on older computers: The app's window now renders (draws on your screen) much better on computers that can't handle fancy translucent backgrounds, like older Windows 10 machines.

Fixes

• Fixed the goal timer: On narrow screens or smaller windows, the goal timer used to overlap with other things and look messy. That visual glitch is gone.
• Fixed the review screen: When looking at a "diff" (a view that shows the exact lines of code you added or deleted), the order of files now matches the order in your file tree, so you don't get confused looking for the right file.
