This update focuses on making Claude Code smoother, more reliable, and easier to use. It brings handy fixes for voice dictation, improves how background tasks are managed, and adds better visual feedback when you are starting up remote sessions. It’s a great quality-of-life update for anyone who wants their AI coding assistant to run more predictably.

What's new

  • Custom mouse controls: You can now disable mouse clicks, drags, and hovers in full-screen mode while still keeping the ability to scroll with your mouse wheel.

Improvements

  • Remote startup checklist: When starting a remote session, you will now see a live, step-by-step checklist showing the setup progress while your virtual environment (the container) starts up.
  • Smarter terminal layouts: The list of completed tasks now automatically resizes to fit your terminal window. On smaller screens, the top header shrinks so your active tasks stay visible.
  • Better Linux audio troubleshooting: On Linux, Claude is now smarter at figuring out microphone issues. It can tell the difference between "you don't have a microphone plugged in" and "you are missing the required audio software (SoX)."

Fixes

  • Voice dictation fixes: On Macs, switching your microphone during a long session will no longer cause Claude to record silence. Additionally, voice auto-submit now works properly for languages that don't use spaces between words, like Japanese, Chinese, and Thai.
  • Plugin security and toggles: Fixed a security loophole where local project settings could load external plugins (add-ons) without asking for your permission first. Also fixed a bug where the /plugin command failed to turn a plugin on or off if its internal name didn't match its marketplace name.
  • Accurate tool matching: Fixed a bug where tools with hyphens in their names (like code-reviewer) would accidentally trigger rules meant for other tools. They now require an exact match.
  • Background task stability: Fixed several issues with background tasks (agents). They will no longer disappear or lose data when handled by different versions of Claude Code. If a task crashes, it will now restart immediately instead of showing a blank screen for 5 seconds. Finally, background processes will no longer get stuck in an unreachable state that blocks you from restarting them.
