Bolt.new April 18, 2026 Changelog

Bolt.new just got a major teamwork upgrade. This release is all about making it easier to build apps together, whether you're working on a school group project or coding with a team. It matters most to anyone who collaborates with others and wants better control over their files without the chaos of people accidentally overwriting each other's work.

What's new

• Real-time multiplayer collaboration: You and your friends can now work in the same Bolt project at the exact same time. You'll see when others are typing, and everyone shares the same chat thread. To keep things from getting messy, Bolt only processes one command at a time. Also, if your friend asks the AI to do something in your project, it uses their AI credits, not yours!
• Projects dashboard: There's a new home screen for your projects. Instead of opening a project just to rename or organize it, you can do it right from the dashboard. You can also star your favorites or use filters to quickly find projects you created, recently viewed, or that someone shared with you.

Improvements

• Role-based sharing: You can now give people specific jobs in your project. A "Viewer" can look at it and copy it, an "Editor" can change the code, and a "Co-owner" has full control to manage everything. You can even set a default rule for your whole team so new projects automatically start with the right permissions.
• Better publishing privacy: Sharing your project with teammates is now completely separate from publishing it as a live website. When you put your site on the web, you can choose to make it Public (anyone can see it) or Private (only people you invite, or people with an email from a specific place like your school, can see it). Also, any secret passwords or keys hidden in the code (called environment variables) are completely hidden from viewers, so your private info stays safe.
