Bolt.new is a tool that uses AI to help you build web apps. This update is all about making your daily coding smoother. It gives you a smarter AI to do the heavy lifting, plus a couple of helpful shortcuts so you can point the AI to exactly what you're working on without getting frustrated.

What's new

• Pick from layers: When you're trying to click on a specific part of your app's design (the user interface, or UI), things often overlap. For example, a button might sit on top of a larger card. If you turn on the new "Pick from layers" option in the Select tool, you'll get a list of all those overlapping pieces. This makes it super easy to grab the whole card instead of accidentally grabbing just the button inside it.
• Tag files and folders: You can now type the @ symbol in your chat message to "tag" a specific file or folder. As you type, a searchable list will pop up so you can quickly find and select exactly what you want. It's a great way to tell the AI, "Hey, focus only on this specific part of my project."

Improvements

• New default AI model: Bolt now uses "Sonnet 4.6" as its default AI model (the underlying "brain" that writes and plans your code). It hits the sweet spot between being fast, keeping costs down, and being smart enough to handle planning, writing code, and fixing bugs.

Breaking changes

• Older AI models "Sonnet 4.5" and "Opus 4.5" have been completely removed. If you were specifically using either of those, you will need to switch to a different model. You can still use "Haiku 4.5" for quick, simple edits, or upgrade to "Opus 4.6" for really complex logic and problem-solving.
