This update is all about making Bolt a more self-contained workspace. Instead of jumping between different tabs to grab images or copy information from your other apps, you can now do it all right in the chat. This matters most to developers who want to save time and keep their focus in one place while building their projects.
What's new
- Make AI images in Bolt: You can now type a description in the chatbox and have Bolt create a picture for your project. It even makes the background transparent and saves it as a WebP file (an image format that helps websites load faster). You have to turn this on first under Personal Settings > Add-on features.
- Connect outside apps (MCP servers): You can now link Bolt to outside tools using something called an MCP server (a way for apps to share data). This means Bolt can directly read or edit things in apps you already use. For example, you can connect Notion to read your notes, or GitHub to look at coding issues, without leaving Bolt. You can use the built-in options or add your own by pasting a link. To try it, click the plus icon in the chatbox, then click Connectors > Manage connectors.
Improvements
- Image creation now includes automatic WebP conversion and transparent background support, which means the pictures you make are ready to use immediately without needing to edit them yourself.
