This update is all about giving you more power and safety when building apps. It matters most if you are working on big, complicated projects and want to try out new code without accidentally breaking what already works.
What's new
- Fable 5.1 AI Model: There is a new brain for the AI chat. It is specially designed for complex, multi-step builds and detailed debugging (finding and fixing errors in your code). Because it is more powerful, it costs more credits to use. If you were already using the older Fable 5, the system automatically swapped it for this new 5.1 version.
Improvements
- Safer Code Editing: The "Code tab" now saves your work to your current branch (a separate, safe workspace) instead of the "main" version of your app. This means you can experiment with your app's raw code, and the main project stays completely untouched until you are ready to combine (merge) them.
- Smart App Protections: Some files control the entire app rather than just one branch. If you try to edit one of those, Base44 will stop you and point you back to the main version. This saves you from the headache of accidentally breaking the whole app.
