Base44's August 19, 2026 update is all about playing nicely with the tools developers already use and making teamwork easier. This release is especially great if you have an existing coding project on GitHub that you want to upgrade using AI, or if you're working on a large team where you need to share apps with lots of people at once.
What's new
- Bring in GitHub projects: You can now import a project from GitHub (a popular website where programmers store their code) and work on it right in your browser. You can ask the AI chat to make changes, see them live, and then send those updates back to GitHub as a "pull request" (a proposed batch of code changes). This works for both public and private projects.
- Better app branches: A "branch" is a separate version of your app where you can test new ideas without messing up the main version. Now, branches act like full, independent copies of your app. They have their own preview screen, their own saved history, and you can even ask the AI chat to merge them back into the main app for you.
- Branching on the go: You can now create, switch, and merge branches from your phone using the iOS or Android app, or your mobile browser.
- Share apps with groups: If you're on an Enterprise plan, you can share an app with a whole team group at once. Instead of inviting people one by one, just being in the group gives them access.
- Full-screen chat images: If you share a picture in the AI chat, you can now click it to make it full-screen. You can swipe through other images on your phone or view the original file.
Improvements
- Automatic web address setup: If you want to connect your app to a custom web domain you already own, Base44 now sets up the required DNS records (the internet's phonebook directions) for you automatically. You no longer have to copy and paste complicated settings by hand.
- Track AI agents: Admins can now click on a team member's "Superagents" count to see exactly which AI agents that person owns, making it easier to keep track of who built what.
