What's new
- Global Plugins and Skills: You can now create custom tools (plugins) and abilities (skills) for Amp that are saved globally. You can just tell Amp what you want, like "Create a personal plugin that runs our formatter on every file the agent edits" or "Import the browser-testing skill from this repo so I can use it on all my projects."
- Sharing and Remixing: You can share your personal tools with your team. Your teammates can discover them, import them to their own setup, and tweak them to fit their needs. You can also ask Amp things like, "Does anyone on my team share a skill for writing release notes?"
- Personal vs. Workspace Tools: You get two places to store these tools. "Personal" is your private sandbox to experiment and test things out. "Workspace" is for the whole team. Workspace admins can push tools to the Workspace area, and they automatically load for everyone on the team.
Improvements
- Live Testing: When you are experimenting in your Personal space, you can have the AI build a tool and reload it live right in the middle of your current chat, so you don't have to restart anything to see if it works.
- Easy Updates: If a tool you imported gets updated by the person who made it, you can easily pull in those new changes. You can just ask Amp, "Update the browser-testing skill to the latest version" or "Check if any of my imported skills are out of date."
