This update is all about making Amp easier to use if you already pay for ChatGPT. It matters most to people who have a ChatGPT subscription and were confused by getting billed twice—once by ChatGPT and once by Amp. Now, your subscription covers almost everything.

What's new

• ChatGPT subscription linking: You can now connect your ChatGPT subscription to Amp. When you do, the low, medium, and high power modes (which act as the main agent, fact-checker, and code reviewer) will only use OpenAI models.
• Lower cost for "high" mode: When your subscription is linked, the "high" power mode no longer requires a minimum amount of Amp credits to run, because it no longer uses outside models you have to pay for.

Improvements

• Simpler billing: Before this update, even if you linked your subscription, Amp secretly used other companies' AI models for background tasks. You ended up paying for "tokens" (the chunks of text that AI models process) using your Amp credits. This update fixes that confusing setup so your subscription actually covers the cost.
• Consistent quality: You might worry that using only OpenAI models makes Amp worse, but the top AI models are so good now that you won't notice a difference. Amp's system is built to get great results no matter which top-tier model it uses.

Fixes

• Fixed double-billing confusion: It used to be frustrating to link your ChatGPT subscription but still see your Amp credits go down. That happened because background tasks were secretly sent to other AI models (like GLM-5.2, Claude Fable, or Haiku). This update makes sure that doesn't happen anymore for low, medium, and high modes.
