Amp August 4, 2026 Changelog

What changed in Amp coding agent August 4, 2026, released 2026-08-04 — explained in plain English.

TLDR
  • You can now upload practically any file—like videos, PDFs, or spreadsheets—directly into your orbs for Amp to use.
  • Amp can watch screen recordings to fix apps, read messy log files to find bugs, and turn boring spreadsheets into interactive websites.
  • It can also listen to audio or video to write out text, and even generate new videos or 3D CAD files from media you give it.

This update is all about giving Amp eyes and ears. Instead of only reading text, the AI can now look at almost any file you give it and actually understand what's inside. This matters to anyone who wants to show their problem to Amp instead of just typing it out—like a developer recording a glitchy app screen, or a student turning a presentation into a website.

What's new

  • Attach any file: You can now drag and drop almost anything into your orbs (your Amp workspaces). Amp can read videos, logs, PDFs, spreadsheets, and datasets to help with your work.
  • Watch and fix apps: You can record your screen showing a software bug, and Amp will watch the video to figure out how to fix or improve the app.
  • Read log files: If an app crashed, you can upload the "log file" (the text file computers generate to record what they were doing right before an error). Amp will read it to track down the bug.
  • Turn files into websites: You can upload a presentation or spreadsheet, and Amp will transform it into an interactive website.
  • Create new media: Amp can now generate new videos and CAD files (3D digital models used for engineering and design) based on the media you upload.
  • Audio and video transcription: If you upload a video or audio clip, Amp can listen to it and type out exactly what is being said.
