Amp recently went through a major upgrade (which we called "Neo"). Thanks to everyone's feedback and patience, the new version is now the default for everyone. This matters to all users because it means the software is finally stable enough to use without the hiccups of a brand-new release.
What's new
- The name is simpler: We dropped the "Neo" tag. The software is just called Amp again because the new version is now the standard for everyone.
Improvements
- Better stability: We upgraded our servers (the behind-the-scenes computers that run the app) so they can handle the huge influx of people using Amp without crashing or slowing down.
- Tougher apps: The app you run on your computer is now more "resilient." That means if your internet connection blinks or the server hiccups, the app is much better at recovering instead of just freezing up.
Breaking changes
- We removed the
--take-me-backcommand from the new version of Amp. This was a special setting that let you temporarily use the older version of the app. If you are right in the middle of a project and absolutely *must* use the old version to finish it, you will need to manually run an older version of the software on your computer instead of using the newest one.
